The National Military Historical Complex "Marshall Konev's Height" is a leading military-historical museum in Slobozhanshchyna, which, through various museum facilities, describes the events of the World War II, local wars and armed conflicts in twentieth century, and modern military history. The memorial complex is located near Kharkiv at an altitude of 197.3. In August 1943, the command-observation station of Colonel-General I.S.Konev, Commander of the Steppe Front, was assembled at this place with the forces of Major General I.M.Managarov, commander of the 53rd Army of the Steppe Front. It was from this height that the troops of the Steppe Front received an order for an organized liberation of Kharkiv. The main exposition and thematic exhibitions of the museum are located in nine halls. Exposition materials are arranged according to the chronological principle of selection and the thematic method of demonstration. The peculiarity of the exposition is in the use of the principle of parallel images: museum objects are presented through a parallel show, which allows you to independently analyze events, compare, and make your own conclusions. The museum "Kharkiv Region in the World War II of 1939-1945" is the first and only museum building in Slobozhanshchyna that is constructed according to a special project that meets the requirements for an exhibition and protection of the objects from the National Museum Fund of Ukraine list. Also, the implementation of the modern principles of barrier-free architecture makes it easier for people with disabilities to visit the museum
