The museum dedicated to the life and work of Hryhorii Skovoroda was founded in the village of Skovorodinovka, Kharkiv region, in 1972. It is located in the house of the Kovalivsky landowners, built in the XVIII century as a garden pavilion. The first two rooms of the museum are devoted to the sculptor's biographies and works, and the third hall – in memory of the writer. The memorial room where Hryhorii Skovoroda lived and died is also open for visitors. An ancient park is located near the museum. The park has practically not changed since the time of Skovoroda, where you can see the monument to the philosopher made by I.P. Kavaleridze.
Interesting Facts:
– the well near the museum a 700-year-old oak and the first burial of the philosopher, his grave, are all still at the same places.
