The idea of the author was to show the majestic figures of Ukrainian girls. The sculptor was inspired by the motives and images of the public holiday of Ivan Kupalo – that's why the sculpture reflects beautiful girls in Ukrainian traditional attire standing in a boat and holding wreaths, which in a moment will float across the Dnipro river. Despite the fact that the sculpture was created in the early 1980s, it took its modern place only 13 years later – in 1997.
