The tract is added to the list of natural monuments since 1972, and its total area is 25 hectares. Lyman got its name due to the properties of water, so fresh it feels like sweet. The territory of the estuary has interesting vegetation, typical for steppes and meadows, there are many animals and birds as well. The area is famous for the healing mud, that includes a large number of sulfates, as well as sodium chloride. It is exact chemical elements that give the water a grayish tinge. An interesting historical past of the tract get its roots far in ancient times. This is a place where the remains of ancient settlements, dating from the Neolithic period (3000 BC) were located, the inhabitants left the clay dishes, harpoons for fishing and tips of ancient arrows. Nature lovers will have a chance to meet the representatives of flora and fauna, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and protected by law.
