The Round Court

One of the Seven Wonders of Sumy, the manor house "Round Yard" is a horse yard of the Nadarzhinsky-Golitsyn estate in the town of Trostyanets. In fact, it is not a round, but an oval construction with four towers, which combines elements of Gothic and Ukrainian baroque.

The construction of this arena started in 1749 by the tsarist confessor Timothy Nadarzhinsky. From the very beginning of its existence the Round Court was supposed to serve as a defensive fortification, but it was never used for military purposes, and subsequently it became an arena for circus concerts and serf performances of the Golitsyn theater. Also, the "Round Yard" housed dwellings for "dancers of the serf ballet" and servants of the owners of the estate.

Now the "Round Yard" has been restored, various cultural actions are held here, every summer there is a festival of historical reconstruction "The Old Fortress". The park adjoins the estate with Golitsyn's palace (XIX century), arboretum, lakes and wooden sculptures.

Фестиваль "Стара фортеця" відвідую кожного року. Дуже гарне місце у поєднанні з атмосферою фестивалю дарує завжди гарний настрій.

Чудове місце для прогулянок та відпочинку. Завдяки щорічному фестивалю #Стара фортеця# про це місце знають за межами не лише Сумської області, але і далі за кордоном. На жаль зручностей ще небагато, але початок і традиції надолужать. Гарне місце в цілому. Хочеться приїздити

Садиба овального плану (65х85), схожа на невелику фортецю, по периметру котрої розміщено чотири круглі триярусні вежі та одноповерхові приміщення, в яких навіть у ХХ ст. ще жили люди. Зі східної сторони «фортеця» має великі цегляні аркові ворота. У будівлі простежується поєднання елементів готичного стилю та українського бароко. «Круглий двір» входив до величезного помістя Надаржинських, згодом — Голіциних, і використовувався як сцена для цирку та акторів, а також для господарських потреб[2]. Зовні Круглий двір оточує товста стіна зі стрільчастими нішами, яка розділена на два яруси карнизом з декоративними машикулями

Історичне місце, яке знаходиться в центрі м. Тростянець. Біля двору знаходяться 3-и музеї, які розкривають історію міста. Також є гарна алея, яка виводить до озера.Ми ще дуже полюбляємо випити каву в кав'ярні біля "Круглого двору". А на новорічні свята там чудова атмосфера, в яку хочеться зануритися кожного року.
